Little River Canyon is one of the most spectacular landforms in this region, carved into the flat top of Lookout Mountain and reaching depths in excess of 600 feet in some sections. It is one of the deepest canyon systems east of the Mississippi River and the deepest in the state of Alabama. The sculptor of this canyon is the Little River, which is notable for flowing for most of its length atop a mountain resulting in stunning waterfalls rapids and mountain gorges.
Join Byron Jorjorian and Ron Rice as we explore the striking landscape of Little River Canyon National Preserve. Located near Fort Payne Alabama at the southern edge of the Cumberland Plateau. Byron ranks it as one of his favorite places to shoot and he has been visiting this area since 2003 , making multiple trips each year.
We are excited to announce that Ron Rice will be joining us for this and many future workshops. This will enable us to make sure that everyone has easy access to instruction while we are in the field. Ron has worked for the better part of the past 30 years in the business side of the photo industry, he has had the opportunity to host and attend countless photo workshops and lectures, and has been deeply influenced by and mentored by many iconic photographers of our time. Ron is passionate about nature photography, helping others and is an outstanding photographer in his own right.
We will meet Friday night at 6pm for orientation and dinner. Beginning Saturday morning at sunrise we will begin to explore and create images in some of Byron's secret spots and the area's most photogenic spots. Saturday afternoon/evening we will have a critique session and then go back out and shoot until sunset to apply what we learned in the critiques. Sunday we will continue our photographic journey until we wind up at noon.
In the interest of giving our workshop clients our full attention while in the field, we do not shoot for our own personal use.
